French Chateau

This River Oaks estate was built in the 1930s where the previous owner envisioned a Versailles-inspired estate. Every decision made during renovation was a commitment to staying true to the original elements of the estate. The structure of the home is concrete, masonry block, and steel. The home is crafted of Cordova Cream limestone veneer quarried in Texas and a slate roof, with flat stone surfaces in Indiana Buff limestone. Moldings were replicated using custom cut knives to match the original home. Renovations and additions were carefully studied to add the conveniences of modern living and flow, while giving great care to the original intent. Maintaining spaces that hold historical character, such as the usage of stone from the original quarry, were critical to the entire team. Additions to the home include a family room, conservatory and west addition/pool house with the intent of accommodating the modern family. The original structure lacked a proper breakfast room so the conservatory and living area accomplished these solutions. Additionally, the homeowners required spaces to host and entertain large groups of family and friends with all the best amenities for contemporary life..
